North Island is 2km long & 1km wide, covering 210 hectares - the same size as Monaco 4. North Island has nearly 4,000 bottles of wine, 201 different varieties, including 25 varieties of Champagne; 38 wines are included in the rate 5. There are 22 Giant Tortoises on North Island 6. 90,000 seedlings have been propagated in the nursery with 55,000 planted out to date as part of North Island's Noah's Ark Project 7. The Blue Pigeon, Isabelline Wheatear, Seychelles White Eye, Warbler & Magpie Robin are some of the rare bird species planned for re-introduction; Fresh water terrapins & insects are also being bred & re-introduced 8.
